Project Details
Alden’s Mill House has been a fixture in Northern Michigan for more than 35 years. This eclectic shop in the middle of downtown Alden has been selling hand-mixed and delicious seasonings, spices, peppers, marinades, and more since 1984.
Aside from their brick-and-mortar location, Alden’s Mill House also sells its unique blends of spices in a large number grocery and specialty stores throughout Michigan and has a thriving eCommerce business — and that’s where we came into play.
Alden’s original online storefront was created using the Magento eCommerce platform which is scheduled for end-of-life in June of 2020. Knowing that they would need to migrate or upgrade to a new platform, the team at Alden’s Mill House reached out to us to help.

How it helped
With their current platform reaching end-of-life in June, we migrated Alden’s Mill House from Magento to WordPress/WooCommerce. WooCommerce is an easy-to-manage eCommerce platform that’s perfect for a multifaceted retail business like AMH. We moved all of their existing content from Magento to WooCommerce, including past order data, customer data, inventory, products, imagery, and more.
It also gave them great features like:
